For some reason I doubt they were PRT since it has only been around since late April of this year. The technology has changed a little but only Seagate makes them at the moment in a 3.5" drive.

So, that's why you sold it to me. They suck. . Mines running just fine. It's a 320 Gb PRT. I haven't had any problems with it at all.

Well all the parts are installed and working.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
A8N-VM CSM Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD
- 1x Onboard Nvidia Gigabit
- SATA 3gb/s
2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3400620AS 400GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/16MB Buffer
- in NVRaid 0
- yes SATA 3gb/s

I installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, loaded drivers, Diskeeper Server, and the latest windows updates.

I did a test transfer over Full Duplex Gigabit from the new file server to my laptop. I was getting transfer speeds of 32-33mB/s. I copied 705mb of data in 24.1 seconds. I am impressed so far. Lets see how it handles a lan party. Now all i have to do is put this thing in a different case so I can fit 2 more drives.

Everything is finished on the file server. I switched cases, moved over the dual 250gb drives, shares are made, and most data is verified. only 2 shares now RAID and Music.

I think I want to buy a new case for this thing.
