what horseshit, i had to lie about my system specs to get it to download... i have a 3000+ overclocked to 3400+ so it will be fine, i put in 3000 and it said it didnt meet the requirements but a 3400+ does... what does 200mhz matter, i mean honestly...

but whatever, the client is downloading right now

Well, that is a little short sighted. Yea 200mhz is not a ton but when you move from one processor class to another the mhz cannot even be compared. Put a 3800+ Manchester against a 4400+ Toledo. The Toledo is only 200mhz faster but will kick the shit outta the 3800+.

oh yeah i totally see what you're saying there, but they dont even let you class them... so for all they know we're talking a 3000+ clawhammer vs a 3400+ clawhammer... which honestly the performance difference there is very minor... (i have a newcastle core btw)

all im saying is that system req's selection needs to be broader, maybe including things like overclocking and processor class... if they want a toledo class processor then they need to let you pick which core.

Impaler found the dual monitor bug on the first day of the beta. Hopefully that will get fixed for retail.

Its 8:40pm Sunday if anyone wants to get online and play.

Having a lot of fun with this, even though there are a ton of awful people playing. A change of pace would also be nice. I know its a beta and all but the same map over and over is going to get boring fast.

My login is ink if you want to add me.

I HAVE ONE MEDAL!

i respect the decision as well. so long as the final release of the game has no monthly fees for multiplayer i am fine with ads.

hot strogg tips

If you crouch in a Cyclops it deploys it into stationary siege mode which gives you about double the firing rate.

Strogg have two pools. Health and stroyent. Stroyent is a shared ammo pool, health is, uh, health. The two pools are interchangeable. You can convert health into ammo, and ammo into health using the + and - keys.

The Strogg level 4 battle sense reward is stroyent regeneration, which means that by swapping stroyent back and forth between health and ammo, you can keep yourself fully healed and fully restocked on ammo.

The hard part is getting level 4 battle sense. :(

I love how everyone makes fun of Battlefield and CounterStrike for having ads, but as soon as our beloved Quake Wars has ads everyone is ok with it. I guess I'll be honest, I don't want ads and I will never want ads, I think they take away from emmersion and are just annoying. I just hope that this advertising company knows what they are doing, and actually make the ads seem like they fit.

If you read the article he claims they're taking adds very seriously; only putting them in natural places (ex: such as the sides of trucks). Whether or not this will end up true is what I wonder. I'm guessing we'll at least see a bunch of billboards with logos, and I'm fine with that as long as some effort is made to blend them in and not make them painfully obvious.

But yeah it sucks I'd rather just pay.

I read the article Jink, anyone can say they are trying to make the ads fit, but seeing a crisp perfect conditioned ad in a run down city or on the side of a out of commission truck doesn't seem right. Thats going by past experiences anyway, companies don't want grime on their virtual ads.

honestly i think it will add a great amount of realism to the game, so long as when the maps are in japan the ads are for mitsubishi, toshiba etc, and for maps set in america, seeing a mcdonalds ad would bring the game much closer to home. youre right apoc i dont think we will see grime covered/destroyed ads but what company would want their ad placed in a slum anyways? they will probably appear like jink said, on overpass signs and trucks and the like. basically, so long as there arent NPCs with pepsi banners and pennzoil nascar bumper stickers on parked cars im okay with it.

I would rather pay a monthly fee then have this happen. If it is a success, this will open the door for the rest of the developers. They may do a great job with keeping the ads to fit in the game were they wont bother anyone... But other developers will not. This could turn games that you play online into "between games comericals Breaks..ect". Look down the road 5 years, and think about "Sony Online" and "EA" ( I hate EA). Personaly I would rather not waste Proc Clocks on any of it.

I just hope they do a good job with THIS game.

Personally I never really have a problem with a monthly fee. I mean think about everything that has been added to WoW without the expansion. If there had been no monthly fee then none of that would have been possible. I would rather have a game that is ever growing and pay a fee than a release game that get maintenance packs.
