that is a very interesting point. i see where you are coming from with that. i guess from that standpoint it doesnt matter whether you have to deal with monthly fees or in-game ads, each is a sacrifice required to use the game in its most current form and therefore it is simply a matter of preference. as a student with very little disposable cash i would rather deal with a few ads than pay a monthly fee. if i had more money then sure i would rather pay than deal with ads. so i wonder if they could instate a system such that you have two options: A) free monthly but with a few virtually hidden ads or B) a reasonable monthly fee for an ad-free version.
but as it is i see the ads as almost a positive thing, adding to the in-game realism by incorporating things from the real world, even if they are just logos. personally i get sick of made-up brands on in-game props. it will be nice to see real coke cans laying on the ground for a change.
