honestly i think the complete opposite. if i am going to spend money on a computer and then to buy a game i see no reason why i should pay continuously for the right to play the game that i spent 50$ on to begin with. and from their standpoint, having Dawn dish soap pay 1mil for an ad in a game gives them more revenue than 50000 people paying 19.99 a month... so if they allocate their funds correctly the ads may pay for more than would be possible from charging monthly fees.

Interesting that you feel that way. I think you need to think about your idea of purchasing a game. You never purchase a game. You are simply paying for the right to use the product. Look at it as a glorified rental. If you were really buying the game you would have the right to mod it any way you see fit and change what ever you like including decompile and reverse engineer. That is not a right you have when you "purchase" any software. In a game that is in constant development you are paying for the right to use the game in it's most current state.

that is a very interesting point. i see where you are coming from with that. i guess from that standpoint it doesnt matter whether you have to deal with monthly fees or in-game ads, each is a sacrifice required to use the game in its most current form and therefore it is simply a matter of preference. as a student with very little disposable cash i would rather deal with a few ads than pay a monthly fee. if i had more money then sure i would rather pay than deal with ads. so i wonder if they could instate a system such that you have two options: A) free monthly but with a few virtually hidden ads or B) a reasonable monthly fee for an ad-free version.

but as it is i see the ads as almost a positive thing, adding to the in-game realism by incorporating things from the real world, even if they are just logos. personally i get sick of made-up brands on in-game props. it will be nice to see real coke cans laying on the ground for a change.

I stopped after the first paragraph, he says that it borrows from Battlefield, screw that. How can someone be so ignorant that they don't even know ET:QW is the successor to W:ET?

Does your friends list and whatnot transfer over? And not only that, are you guys playing currently? I just installed the beta 2 and I was going to get it up and running.
