Hardware & Network Upgrades - Hypernia.com

Postby Slayer » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:08 pm

I just got these emails from Hypernia. At some point our game server IP will change. This will not be a problem if you connect to the server using the server browser or the domain et.slayfest.com.

I will update the et.slayfest.com domain as soon as I know the new IP.

The Good news is that the server may appear to be faster once this is done.

Hello Everyone,

This week we will be performing network and server upgrades to all game servers located in our Dallas and Chicago Datacenters. The upgrades will only affect game servers and will have no impact on any voice services.

Migrations are scheduled to begin this coming Sunday night into Monday and will progress through the week. Our migrations will be done as quickly as possible to minimize impact to your gaming experience.

This migration will affect everyone except:

A) Dallas clients who were moved a short time ago due to proactive hardware maintenance.
B) Novalogic game titles.

Please understand as we will also be doing network upgrades at the same time your IPs will change for your game servers during the migrations. In order to assist you migrating your players to the new network segments we will be leaving services online in both locations for a few days to allow you to reroute your players.

If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance please visit: https://support.hypernia.com and submit a new ticket to "Support".

Thank you,
Hypernia Advanced Migrations Team

Follow up email
To follow-up with the previous mailer, the upgrades & network upgrades does not affect the dedicated server clients. This maintenance only effects by the slot game servers in Dallas & Chicago.

Cheers!

This will completely fuck up our gametracker rank and server stats if the IP changes. Not to mention it creates a shitload of work for me to edit every post I made advertising our server on other forums.
